Trentin Agency considers a limited number of unsolicited submissions from screenwriters working in the United States, the United Kingdom, and selected European film and television markets.

Eligibility

We look for writers with a demonstrable professional background or substantial specialist screenwriting training. Relevant experience may include produced screenwriting credits, commissioned work, options, or participation in established industry fellowships, labs, and development programmes.

For English-language submissions, we consider only screenplays written originally in English, demonstrating native-level fluency, natural and character-specific dialogue, and a professional command of visual storytelling, scene construction, and screenplay conventions.

We do not consider screenplays originally written in another language and subsequently translated into English, whether by the writer, a translator, or automated translation tools.

We assess both the submitted project and the writer’s readiness for professional representation. A polished pitch or ambitious concept alone is not sufficient: the writing, experience, and intended production context must support a credible next step.

For writers professionally based in Europe with projects originally written in French, German, or Spanish, please send a brief introductory query in English outlining your professional background, the project, its original language, and any existing development or production involvement. Please do not attach a screenplay unless requested.

What we are looking for

We are interested in original features, limited series, and returning series with a strong concept, a clear voice, and a distinctive creative identity.

We are particularly drawn to crime, thriller, horror, dark drama, and contemporary drama with strong narrative tension. We also consider coming-of-age, dark comedy, and genre-blending projects when the premise is distinctive and the tone is fully under control.

We look for material whose setting, characters, language, and scale reflect a clear understanding of its intended audience and production context. International ambition must be supported by the writing itself.

We are less likely to pursue generic concepts, unmanaged tonal shifts, an overreliance on twists, or projects whose creative and production identity remains indistinct.

We do not consider book-to-screen adaptation proposals through unsolicited submissions, including adaptations of the writer’s own published or self-published work.

– a short bio detailing relevant screenwriting credits, professional experience, and training

– your current professional base and the film or television market in which you work

– a logline

– for features, a treatment and the full screenplay

– for series, a detailed series bible with full character descriptions and the pilot screenplay

Please identify any existing options, producer attachments, or development agreements relating to the project.

We do not sign NDAs for unsolicited submissions and do not provide notes, coverage, or development feedback unless a project has been selected for further consideration.

Submissions that do not meet these requirements will not be considered.

We respond only if interested.

We do not charge reading fees, submission fees, or upfront representation fees.

We take on only writers and projects we believe we can actively position, develop, and support within the markets we serve.
